Meet your Local Business Forum Chair

The Rugby Local Business Forum, led by Karen Shuter, offers its members a chance to stay updated on local matters. Members can hear from local MPs and Council Officials on a micro-level and get a chance to express their opinions on issues that affect businesses.

Karen Shuter is Joint Managing Director of Exact Logistics. After graduating with a degree in Business Studies from Coventry University, she worked for several blue-chip companies in sales & marketing roles. She founded a local publishing company in 2005 before joining forces with co-director and husband Adam to start Exact Logistics back in 2009.

Exact Logistics serves local manufacturing & distribution businesses as well as international hauliers, mainly from Germany. International sales account for almost 50% of turnover.

As well as her business and community responsibilities as acting chair of Rugby’s Local Business Forum, Karen also has been a director of the CWCC since 2017.

Explore Rugby’s Economic landscape

Rugby is a critical logistics hub, benefiting from its strategic location in the heart of the UK. The town's logistics sector is robust, with numerous distribution centres and transportation companies operating in the area. In 2022, Rugby's logistics industry supported over 8,000 jobs and handled an estimated 20 million tonnes of freight. This sector's efficiency and capacity are vital to the smooth operation of supply chains both regionally and nationally, underpinning Rugby's economic strength.
