The event gives complete beginners the chance to learn two choreographed dance routines with qualified instructors before performing in front of live audiences at a glittering gala weekend in December. No previous dance experience is required – just enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
Organisers are particularly encouraging male contestants to put themselves forward and help create a fantastic line-up for this year's event.
As well as enjoying an unforgettable personal experience, every participant will play a vital role in raising funds for Zoe's Place Baby Hospice Coventry, helping the charity continue providing specialist care and support for babies and young children with life-limiting, life-threatening and complex conditions, while offering invaluable support to their families during the most challenging times.
Every pound raised will help Zoe's Place keep its doors open and continue delivering the compassionate care that hundreds of families rely upon each year.
James Sanders, show director for Strictly Christmas 2026 said: "Strictly Christmas is so much more than a dance competition – it's an incredible journey that brings people together, builds confidence, creates lifelong friendships and, most importantly, raises vital funds for an amazing local charity.
"We're especially keen to hear from more men this year. Whether you're normally a ‘dad dancer’, have two left feet or simply someone looking for an exciting new challenge, we'd love you to take part. You don't need any dance experience – just a great attitude and a desire to make a real difference."
Contestants will receive full dance training, fundraising support throughout the challenge and the opportunity to perform in front of family, friends and supporters at the spectacular Strictly Christmas shows.
Previous participants have described the experience as life-changing, combining months of fun, fitness and friendship while supporting one of the region's most deserving charities.
If you've ever fancied taking to the dancefloor, now is your chance to shine while making a lasting difference to local families.
