Warwickshire Lord-Lieutenant's Cadet Investiture Ceremony

The Warwickshire Lord-Lieutenant's Cadet Investiture Ceremony marked a special moment for the county's Cadet Forces; celebrating outgoing Lord-Lieutenant's Cadets at the end of their year of service, whilst welcoming the newly appointed cadets stepping into this prestigious role for the year ahead.

The evening also recognised the dedication, leadership and service of senior Cadet staff and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) across the region, whose commitment continues to make such a difference to young people and local communities.

Warwickshire Lord-Lieutenant's Cadet Investiture Ceremony

This ceremony was held in the historic surroundings of Warwick's Shire Hall, with proceedings led the Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire, Tim Cox.

His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenants are The King's representatives in each county of the UK, upholding the dignity of the Crown while supporting the civic, voluntary, business and community life of their counties.

Each year, Lord-Lieutenant's Cadets are selected to support them at official events and engagements. Typically drawn from the Army Cadet Force, Royal Air Force Air Cadets, and Sea Cadets, they act as aides and representatives of the Cadet Forces. The role provides an important link between the Armed Forces and local communities, supports Cadet Force recruitment and assists the county's Reserve Forces and Cadets Association.

Cadets are selected based on their outreach, participation and commitment within their squadron, detachment or unit. It is seen as one of the highest achievements in the Cadet Forces.

After the ceremony, we spoke to two Lord-Lieutenant Cadets.

"Joining the Cadets has been the best thing I've ever done with my teenage years. I've had countless opportunities, being selected as the Lord-Lieutenant's representative is in itself an amazing opportunity" - Flight Sergeant Loana Costin.

"I Joined when I was ten, so I've been in the Sea Cadets for ages! I've had so many opportunities, I've rowed at National Regatta. Sea Cadets has just opened up so many doors for me and given me so many skills I can take into my future" - Leading Cadet, Bella Chamberlain.

Congratulations to all Cadets recognised this year, both those completing their year of service and those beginning this exciting new chapter.
