Team members Dylan, Keeton, Conor and Lucas went the extra mile with their efforts by signing up to have their legs waxed.
The hardy quartet generated money through sponsorship before heading to Anew Aesthetics in Rugby where Carlie and her team went to work on their lower limbs.
Their efforts, coupled with a raffle that was generously supported by a number of local businesses, helped to raise £859.80 – that will go towards the Prince's Trust ongoing community volunteering work.
Lucas Clarke, 20 from Rugby, was one of the students involved in the initiative. He said: "Four of us agreed to do something a bit different for charity and considering that none of us would've signed up to that for fun, we thought that people would want to support with sponsorship for our community projects. We thought it would make people smile, even if it made us cry!"
WCG is the largest provider of programmes for The Prince’s Trust in England.
Nichola Manzella, Prince’s Trust team leader for WCG, said: “Our students did a great job raising money through sponsorship and then being brave enough to go through with the leg wax.
“And we’d like to give an extra special thank you to Anew Aesthetics for hosting us and providing the salon space and donated treatments in order to support the Prince's Trust. Carlie and her team were wonderful and their generosity is greatly appreciated.”
The raffle was also supported by SASS, Visible Changes salon, Penny Plain, The Scrum, La Bella Boutique, Kaspas, Ami Brow Bar, Central Cafe, Cafe Nero, Terracotta, Etcetera, Wild and Free and Dragon Papercraft.
The Prince’s Trust Team programme runs from several locations across Warwickshire, West Midlands, Nuneaton, South Birmingham, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.
It is free to join for those aged 16 to 25 and seeks to help build confidence and develop new skills and qualifications to help participants in the world of work.
