Rather than getting him to make everyone tea and coffee all week, SGD provided a four-day sample of the types of work conducted.
On his first day, Oliver combined VAT information for year-end accounts. His second day saw him reconcile digitalised bank and credit card statements. Year-end reconciliations formed most of the third day and the fourth saw him analyse the income and expenditure of a company.
Throughout the four days, Oliver demonstrated a fantastic attitude and made the most of every opportunity, gaining valuable knowledge while developing key career skills that will support him in his future job search.
The team at SGD were delighted to have Oliver around as his enthusiasm revealed the promise of the next generation of accountants.
To celebrate finishing school, Oliver has a trip to Drayton Manor coming soon. After that, once his studies are complete, a lucky accounting firm may find a strong CV heading their way.
SGD wish Oliver and anyone else pursuing a career in accounting all the best for the future.
