The 2025-26 results show strong results for North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC), with the college outperforming the sector in eight of the 10 key areas, including:
- Teaching on my course: 91.9% positivity measure (sector: 88.1%)
- Learning opportunities: 90.2% (sector: 85.8%)
- Assessment feedback: 89% (sector: 82.9%)
- Academic support: 89.5% (sector: 89.3%)
- Organisation and management: 82.6% (sector: 80.9%)
- Learning resources: 81% (sector: 88.8%)
- Student voice: 88% (sector: 80%)
The College also saw clear improvements in Organisation and Management, Student Voice and Wellbeing Support Communications.
Marion Plant, OBE FCGI, Principal and Chief Executive of NWSLC said the results are a “clear testament” to the high standards, dedication and student-centred approach that underpins the College’s Higher Education (HE) provision.
She said: “Once again, NWSLC has outperformed the sector in key areas of student satisfaction in this independent survey. There is no clearer validation about the College than from students themselves. It is a clear demonstration of the effort that our staff make every day to ensure students’ time with us is a positive and fruitful one.
“It is important to us that students recognise that we value their feedback and opinions, and the important role the student voice plays in shaping the provision for both current and future students.”
Other highlights from the NSS results include:
- 95% of students agree that staff make the subject engaging
- 93% of students feel that staff are good at explaining things
- 93% feel that their course is intellectually stimulating
- 93% feel that teaching staff have supported their learning well
- 94.9% of students feel that information about the college's mental wellbeing services is well communicated.
In addition to the NSS, the College also carried out its own internal HE student satisfaction survey, to ensure robust monitoring of the student experience. The results of these showed:

- How free do you feel to express your ideas, opinions and beliefs? 97.2%
Expanding on their current offering, NWSLC is launching a number of new HE courses this September and there’s still time to apply.
The Higher Education offer will focus on developing leadership, management and professional skills to support career progression and workforce development. Courses will include HTQs in Leadership and Management, Construction Management, Sustainable Business Management, Marketing Management and a HNC in Hospitality Management.
The HNC Hospitality Management programme will also incorporate the operational management of Grayson's Restaurant, at the NWSLC Grayson Place campus, providing students with valuable real-world industry experience.
These programmes will be available both as full qualifications and, from January 2027, through modular delivery funded via the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE), providing flexible opportunities for adults to upskill and progress into higher-level roles within the local community.
