The Nuneaton Festival of Arts is a longstanding celebration of creativity and cultural expression in the area. This year’s competition welcomed hundreds of entries from talented individuals across a variety of disciplines made up of performing arts, visual arts and creative arts.
The competition’s art segment attracted over 500 submissions, making NWSLC’s accomplishments all the more significant.
Neal Evans, Academic Coordinator for HND Fine Art at NWSLC, praised the students’ achievements, saying: “This is a phenomenal result and a real testament to the hard work and imagination of our students.
“Their ability to engage with a diverse range of artistic disciplines and to produce such high-quality work reflects the strength of our creative arts programmes. We’re incredibly proud of every student who took part.”
Among the highlights of the competition were Sage Westbury and Poppy Wright who both took first place in Fashion Design with ‘Chicano Fashion’ and ‘Brutalism’ respectively, and Evie Holland who impressed the judges with her emotional portrait ‘Dad’.
Evan Cleaver also took first place in Computer Aided Design for his striking piece ‘Mr Fox’.
Val Squires publicity officer for the Nuneaton Festival of Arts organising committee said: “We were thrilled with the outstanding standard of entries this year. The level of skill, creativity and innovation on display was truly inspiring and made the judging process a real challenge.”
