Keynote speaker Tim Field of the North East Cotswold Farmer Cluster will discuss how landowners can work collectively to deliver better environmental outputs and secure enhanced reward in doing so.
Richard Smith, senior farms manager of Daylesford Organic/JCB Farms will discuss the growth and the development of their farming business over the last 35 years, whilst Alex Robinson of Nature Capital and Zulu Forest Sciences will explain how landowners can establish a natural capital baseline, in order to identify opportunities and unlock value from these assets.
Also speaking at the event is Manjeet Kumari La, head of engagement at DEFRA, who will provide an update on the current state of government support, as the sector moves from the land-based Basic Payment Scheme to the new Environmental Land Management Scheme.
James Spreckley, head of the Agricultural and Landed Estates team at Lodders, said: “This year’s Rural Conference brings together a fantastic line-up of inspiring speakers from across the farming industry to provide advice on navigating the new agricultural landscape and share opportunities for sustainable growth and development.
“The conference will be a highly valuable and informative event for farmers, landowners, and their advisers, and also offers a great opportunity for attendees to network and meet new professionals. We are looking forward to welcoming our speakers and guests from across the rural sector to the stunning Lapstone Barn on 6 June.”
