Local Charity Calls on Community to Take on Summer Challenges for “30 for 30” Campaign

Residents across Warwickshire and beyond are being encouraged to step up, get active, and make a difference this summer as George Eliot Hospital Charity launches two exciting fundraising challenge events this July.

As part of the charity’s ambitious “30 for 30” campaign, supporters are invited to sign up for either a fun-filled inflatable run or a tough, muddy endurance challenge — all while raising vital funds to support patients, staff, and services at George Eliot Hospital.

Kicking things off, and for those looking for an intense challenge, the charity is offering places at Tough Mudder, taking place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2026 at Belvoir Castle in Grantham. Participants can choose between 5km or 15km courses, tackling over 20 obstacles featuring mud, water, heights, and even fire. Described as “not a race, but a team challenge,” Tough Mudder focuses on camaraderie, resilience, and pushing personal limits. Entry costs £30 per person, with participants asked to raise a minimum of £250 in sponsorship.

“Whether you’re climbing, crawling, or conquering your fears, Tough Mudder is all about teamwork and determination,” added Lisa Harrison-Byrne, Fundraising Manager at George Eliot Hospital Charity. “It’s an incredible experience and a powerful way to support your local hospital.”

On Saturday 25th July 2026, thrill-seekers of all ages can take part in the Coventry Inflatable 5K Run, hosted at the University of Warwick. Known as the world’s biggest inflatable obstacle course, the event promises a day packed with laughter, energy, and unforgettable moments as participants bounce, slide, and race their way to the finish line.

Open to anyone aged five and above (with under 16s accompanied by a registered adult), the event is designed to be accessible and family-friendly. Best of all, registration is completely free — participants are simply asked to pledge a minimum of £50 in sponsorship.

Lisa said: “This is such a fantastic event for families, friends, and colleagues to come together, have fun, and support a great cause. You don’t need to be an athlete — just bring your enthusiasm, and we’ll support you every step, or bounce, of the way.”

The charity’s dedicated fundraising team will be on hand to support participants from sign-up through to event day, offering guidance, tips, and encouragement to help everyone reach their fundraising goals.

With limited places available, those interested are encouraged to sign up soon and be part of an inspiring summer of fundraising.
