The event, formerly known as the Deeley Group Charity Band Night, has raised more than £71,600 over the four previous editions – including £37,616 for Acorns Children’s Hospice last year.
Gig for Good will take place at Coventry Rugby Club’s Butts Park Arena and will bring together businesses and guests from across the region for an evening of live music and fundraising.
The event is organised by Trustees of the Deeley Group Charity and the company is hoping to raise around £30,000 this year, with 250 people expected to attend this year’s event.
Gig for Good will feature a performance from The Parklife.
Coventry, Warwickshire & Worcestershire Mind provides mental health support for people of all ages across the region through services including counselling, crisis support and community wellbeing programmes.
The charity, which was established in 1966, supports around 44,000 people through more than 20 services across the Midlands.
Funds raised from the event will support two projects delivered by the charity, including a new 26 bed supported living space in Foleshill opening this year that will help people transition back into the community after leaving mental health units.
The fundraising will also support the charity’s eco-therapy service in Spon End, which helps people improve their wellbeing through time spent outdoors and in nature.
Jade Clarke, Business Development Manager at the charity, said: “The support of organisations like Deeley Group is important to enable our team to continue delivering services across the region.
“The need for mental health support is only growing and the funds raised through events like Gig for Good will help us continue supporting thousands of people across Coventry, especially through our facilities and services in Foleshill and Spon End.”
Carol Maughan-Smith, a Trustee of the Deeley Group Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has attended one of our fundraising events and helped us to raise money for important local causes.
“The event has continued to grow year on year and with that, the support we have been able to give our chosen charity has grown too.
“Mental health is an important issue across all industries, particularly in construction, so by supporting Coventry, Warwickshire & Worcestershire Mind through Gig for Good we can help to ensure more people across our region can access the support they need.”
