Businesses can have their say on the current economic climate

Firms across Coventry and Warwickshire can feed into a survey to ensure decision-makers understand what it’s like to do business and what the barriers are to growth.

Businesses can have their say on the current economic climate

And once businesses have filled out the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce’s latest Quarterly Economic Survey (QES), supported by Prime Accountants Group, they will be entered into a draw to win an afternoon tea for two at Ansty Hall Hotel.

The first QES of 2026 showed an improvement in domestic sales in the both the services and manufacturing sectors, and growth in overseas sales in manufacturing.

Manufacturing, generally, saw improvements in investment and cashflow, as well as the outlook for employment.

The services sector, however, saw a drop in all of those measures and a general dip in confidence.

The information is analysed by the Business Intelligence Service at Warwickshire County Council and scores all aspects out of 100 where anything above 50 indicates growth and anything below 50 is negative.

Crucially, confidence in both services and manufacturing was above the 50-point mark in Quarter One.

In addition to the standard questions in the latest survey, firms will also be asked for their views on the effect that the conflict in the Middle East is having on them and the wider economy.

Corin Crane, chief executive of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Our QES really matters.

“We speak to businesses on a daily basis and get great anecdotal evidence on the economy of Coventry and Warwickshire but the QES means we can have all of the data in one place and can let decision makers know how it really feels to be doing business in the current climate.

“That’s why we are so keen for as many firms as possible to take part so we can understand the local economic picture but also feed into colleagues at the British Chambers of Commerce who are speaking to Government all the time about how businesses are feeling.

“So, by taking a few minutes to fill out the survey you are really making a difference!”
