Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce organised the event for its Business Influence Partners and Business Engage Members at the historic Blyth Hall near Coleshill.
The event was supposed to allow members the opportunity to enjoy refreshments inside the 17th Century Grade I listed building before heading out to take in the grounds and surrounding area in June sunshine.
The weather had other ideas and, instead, around 50 businesspeople got to chat by the fire before taking part in a fun networking exercise in pairs.
Chris Nagle, head of events, marketing and communications at Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Our net-walking events are always really popular because they give delegates the chance to get out in the fresh air in lovely surroundings but also network too.
“Being outdoors is great for mental and physical wellbeing, whilst also providing the perfect opportunity for business leaders to network.
“Blyth Hall is an incredible venue and their extensive grounds would have been perfect for net-walking but as soon as we saw the rain hit, we had to move to plan B!
“It turned into a really great networking event and everyone really enjoyed the little exercise we put on to get them chatting and learning about one another. There were lots of conversations where members were looking to collaborate and do business and that’s exactly what it’s all about!
“Even the rain couldn’t put a dampener on that!”
