We are pleased to share that Coventry University Business School has been awarded its fifth consecutive year of delivery by the Chartered Association of Business Schools. Over that time, the programme has supported more than 300 local business owners and senior leaders, helping them strengthen capability, refine strategy and unlock new opportunities within their organisations.
Designed specifically for SME leaders, Help to Grow: Management blends academic expertise with practical, real-world application. The programme explores core areas such as strategic planning, innovation, digital adoption, financial management and leadership. A key outcome is the development of a tailored growth plan, enabling participants to apply learning directly to their business throughout the course.
A standout feature is the flexible hybrid delivery model, which works particularly well for busy senior managers. By combining online learning with in-person sessions, the programme allows participants to engage fully without stepping away from their business for extended periods. This balance helps ensure that learning remains relevant, practical and immediately actionable.
Alongside the taught content, participants benefit from 10 hours of one-to-one business mentoring. This personalised support provides the opportunity to explore individual challenges and opportunities in greater depth, offering valuable guidance from experienced mentors who understand the realities of running and growing a business.
The programme also creates strong opportunities for local networking. Each cohort brings together a diverse group of business leaders from across sectors, fostering peer learning, shared insight and meaningful professional connections that often continue well beyond the course itself.
Feedback from participants consistently highlights the value of being able to step back and take a more strategic view. As one business leader commented: “Help to Grow: Management gave me the time, structure and expert guidance to step back from the day-to-day and reimagine how we grow as a business.”
While the programme is valued at £7,500, Coventry University Business School is currently offering a limited number of full bursaries. This means eligible organisations can access the full programme at no cost, making it a highly accessible opportunity for businesses looking to invest in leadership development and long-term growth.
A new cohort is scheduled to begin in June, and demand is already strong. With places filling quickly, businesses may wish to register their interest sooner rather than later to avoid missing out.
For SMEs across the region, initiatives like Help to Grow: Management provide a valuable bridge between ambition and action—equipping leaders with the tools, confidence and network to drive sustainable success.
