This has included specialist safety training, administration, leadership, health and safety skills and supporting staff through apprenticeship training schemes.
Jaycee Snow, from Nuneaton, has recently completed an apprenticeship in Business Administration through the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training.
She joined the BID in July 2024 shortly after completing her A-Levels and has benefited from a wide range of professional development opportunities to build her confidence and expand her skillset.
Jaycee has delivered mock interviews for students across schools in Coventry and completed key training including Ask for Angela and Action Counter Terrorism (ACT).
Coventry BID is now supporting the 20-year-old through a Multi-Channel Marketing apprenticeship, working closely with the BID’s marketing team and gaining practical experience to support her studies.
Jaycee said: “I have definitely grown in confidence since joining the BID. When I first started, everything was new, but I’ve had great opportunities to develop, improve and be more confident in my role.
“I’ve been able to get involved in a lot of different projects, including leading the Student Walk and working closely with the marketing team. That hands-on experience has been really valuable for my second apprenticeship because there’s always something new to learn.
“I’ve been able to gain real experience while developing my skills and it has helped me understand how the city centre works and how we support businesses.”
Members of the BID team regularly undertake specialist training and industry qualifications covering areas such as BID leadership and management, counter-terrorism awareness, safeguarding, spiking awareness and modern-day slavery training. With the team set to complete naxolone training in the coming weeks.
The training ensures staff have the confidence and expertise to support businesses and respond effectively to challenge in the city centre.
Joanne Glover, Chief Executive of Coventry BID, said: “Investing in our team is essential to ensuring we can deliver the best possible support for businesses and visitors in Coventry city centre.
“We will continue to invest in developing the team and the team is committed to continuing their professional development incredibly proud of the commitment our staff show to their professional development.
“Jaycee is a great example of how we support people and it’s has been wonderful to see her grow in confidence and take on new opportunities within the team.”
