Isle of Man residential development opportunity on market with Bromwich Hardy

A 3.42 acre prime development site in Peel on the Isle of Man has been put on the market by commercial property agents Bromwich Hardy.

Tom Bromwich, managing partner of Bromwich Hardy, said: “The site of the former Barford Engineering Premises and Olive Court has planning permission for residential development.

“It is well located, close to Peel town centre and approximately 11 miles from the island’s capital, Douglas.”

Offers are being invited for the site on Ramsey Road.

In 2025, the landowner demolished the former factory building to prepare the site for development.

There is existing planning approval in principle for residential development and a Section 13 agreement linked to the approval has been entered into by the landowner. However, a detailed reserved matters planning submission would need to be made before development could commence.

Tom Bromwich added: “The Isle of Man has a thriving economy and is world renowned for the historic TT races.

“The Year of the Manx Language is currently being celebrated in 2026 and is just part of a rich, 10,000-year-old heritage on this fascinating island.“

The island is accessible by ferry in around 2 hours 20 minutes, and by air in around 30 minutes from a wide range of airports in the UK and Ireland.
