Volunteer for Big Ideas at Warwick: Transforming the Future!
University of Warwick, Kirby Corner Road, Coventry, CV4 8UW
Date: 20 May 2025 - 10am - 2pm
What is Big Ideas at Warwick?
Big Ideas at Warwick is a fun interactive workshop at the University of Warwick which sees local year 9 students take on the role of a new social enterprise company for the day. They will have the opportunity to work in teams to develop a new product idea to tackle a social issue of their choice and to then “pitch” their product.
The programme:
- Sparks ambition amongst young people from underserved communities, inspiring them to consider their future education and careers
- Offers students the opportunity to engage with higher education and the world of work through direct interaction with volunteers
- Supports young people to develop valuable new employability skills
How you could support young people on the day?
- Sharing insights into your industry
- Acting as a role model
- Providing insight into the world of work and sharing your own career journey
- Highlighting the diversity of the opportunities in the local area, or in your industry
- Supporting the students through their tasks and activities
- Answer any queries relating to your experiences in the industry, or general employment-related questions.
Volunteers do not need to prepare anything, a full briefing will be given beforehand.
