Deputy Lieutenants support the Lord-Lieutenant, His Majesty The King’s personal representative in the region, in a wide range of civic, cultural, and social initiatives across Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, and Wolverhampton.
Their duties include supporting official royal visits, attending citizenship ceremonies, encouraging voluntary work, promoting local initiatives, and recognising outstanding contributions through Honours and awards.
Commenting on the appointments, Mr Anderson said: “It is a great privilege to serve as His Majesty the King’s representative in the West Midlands with the purpose of supporting every citizen and community in the region.
"These appointments, with their years of experience and dedicated service, will strengthen our work and I am delighted to welcome them to our group of passionate and dedicated DLs.”
Calum Nisbet brings extensive leadership experience to his new role. As CEO of Kaleidoscope Plus Group, he leads a 70-strong team providing vital mental health support across local authorities and the NHS.
A strong advocate of collaboration and partnership working, Calum also serves as Chair of the West Midlands Reserve Forces & Cadets Association Regional Employment Engagement Group and is a member of the Sandwell Together Partnership.
His previous roles include Commercial Director at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and Regional Director for the West Midlands at the Institute of Directors. Beyond his professional work, Calum contributes to the wider community as a Director at Windsor Academy Trust, Trustee of the Heart of England Community Foundation, and Director of the West Bromwich Business Improvement District.
