Youngsters can get stuck into Halloween-themed crafts, join one of the popular daily Halloween tours taking place at 11.15am and 2.15pm throughout half term, and follow the Bone-tastic Trail in search for parts of the mysterious ‘Bobby Bones’.
On October 30 and 31, supernatural storytellers Mistress Moaning Mary and Wailing Willow will descend on the venue to host a series of special ticketed events, filled with games, crafts and not-too-scary tales from the past.
These character-led sessions last an hour and are perfect for young children and their grown-ups, taking place at 10.15am, 11.30am, and 1.15pm. Tickets are £10 per child and £6 per accompanying adult (up to two adults per child).
Plus those looking to add on an extra special Halloween treat can also enjoy a children’s Halloween Afternoon Tea with Willow and Mary, served in the atmospheric Tales of Tea restaurant on October 30 and 31 when booking the 2.30pm entry ticket.
Children are encouraged to come dressed in their favourite Halloween costumes.
Abi Moore, Heritage and Venue Manager at St Mary’s Guildhall, which is operated by No Ordinary Hospitality, said: "Halloween is the perfect time to experience St Mary’s Guildhall and the history hidden in every corner.
“The Ghostly Guildhall brings hundreds of years of spooky tales to life with a fun and family-friendly twist, and we can’t wait to welcome witches, wizards, and curious kids of all ages this October half term."
St Mary’s Guildhall is one of the UK’s finest surviving medieval guildhalls, with a 700-year history of royal visits, power struggles, and hidden stories waiting to be discovered. The Halloween events are designed to engage families with history in a creative and accessible way.
General admission charges apply for the Ghostly Guildhall experience from October 25 to 29, and advance booking is required for the Mistress Moaning Mary and Wailing Willow sessions on October 30 and 31.
