Hamnet Blue is distilled using Butterfly Pea Flowers, Hibiscus, Lemon Verbena and Thyme, alongside classic gin botanicals including Juniper, Coriander Seed, Lemon Peel and Cubeb. Butterfly Pea Flowers are steeped into the finished spirit, giving the gin its natural blue colour. When tonic water is added, the colour magically changes.

Simon Picken, Co-Founder of Shakespeare Distillery, said: "Hamnet Blue is a celebration of Shakespeare’s only son and a nod to the remarkable history of Stratford upon Avon. We wanted to create a fun and delicious gin to shake off the January blues, and a fitting tribute to the Shakespeare twins. Hosting a launch event at 1 High St — the former home of Judith Shakespeare — makes it even more special for us and for visitors. We look forward to welcoming everyone to join us in store on 10 January to taste and celebrate this exciting new product.”
Hamnet Blue has been produced as a limited distillery release, available in 50cl and 5cl bottles. These can be purchased online at www.shakespearedistillery.com, at the distillery shop or from the shop at No 1 High Street, Stratford upon Avon.
Since its launch in 2015, Shakespeare Distillery has grown from a small start-up to an award-winning, carbon neutral producer of gin and rum, and a leading visitor attraction with Distillery Tours, Gin Schools, Rum Schools, Gin and Rum Tastings, Cocktail Masterclasses and Gin Tasting Cruises. As strong supporters of local businesses, the team champions fellow producers by stocking local goods in their High Street shop and collaborating on unique products and events.
