“From day one we went video-first on YouTube and optimised for returning viewers, not one-off viral spikes,” said Nitin Sharma, founder and host of RecTalk.
“Whether it was fifty people or five thousand, we focused on showing up every week with honest conversations that save time, make money, or change how teams deliver recruitment. Hitting 100k proves there’s a real appetite for that.”
The milestone comes as the UK hiring market has cooled, with the KPMG and Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s June 2025 Report on Jobs showing fewer permanent placements, slower pay growth, and a sharp rise in candidate availability. In tougher conditions, listeners have turned to RecTalk for practical, outcome-focused advice that cuts through noise.
“Last year, when our studio partner closed, we literally lugged kit up two flights of stairs and borrowed a small pub space to keep the show going,” Sharma added. “Our guests still showed up, our audience stuck with us, and the momentum never stopped. That community is what got us to 100k.”
The road ahead...
RecTalk now moves into a focused growth phase, having been named Official Podcast Partner to Recruitment Agency Expo, IHR Conferences, RecFest UK, TEAM Network, and the OnRec Awards, with further collaborations in the pipeline.
The Founder Diaries series is outperforming expectations and will shift to a dedicated release day to keep momentum and habit high. The podcast is also expanding the slate with Talking Talent, a RecTalk podcast launching 25 October 2025 built specifically for TA and HR leaders. Together, these partnerships and formats deepen the brand’s reach across the recruitment community and give brands new, high-trust ways to engage.
