The charity rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes across Romania, including elderly and disabled dogs. It also has a focus on education and sterilisation to improve the overall situation in the country, which is believed to be home to between 500,000 and one million strays.
R&Co’s experienced team of social media and PR specialists, which include former editors and journalists, will deliver PR, SEO and social media to help Speranta grow its supporter base in the UK.
To celebrate its new client win, four members of the R&Co team visited the Speranta shelter in Bucharest to meet the team and see their work first-hand.
R&Co is further supporting the charity by creating a Speranta-themed tree at Leamington’s annual Christmas Tree Festival in the hope of raising donations. The ‘Tree of Hope for Speranta’s Dogs’ will be on display at All Saints Parish Church from 30 November to 7 December.
R&Co managing director, Peter Robinson, said: “A major part of our growth plan has been to offer a one-stop shop to our clients for all their communications needs, with experts in multiple fields including social media, SEO and PR all under one roof.
“We have had several award wins in recent years, recognising our well-earned reputation in areas including veterinary, automotive and logistics.
“We are delighted to be working with such an amazing charity and helping spread news of its incredible work. It was great for the team to visit the shelter and see first-hand the difference Speranta makes to the dogs its team care for.
“We will work hard to ensure we deliver outstanding results for not only the Speranta team, but the wonderful animals in their care. This work started with our visit to Romania, and we’re looking forward to continuing to show our support over the festive season by spreading the Speranta name in the West Midlands and beyond!”
Anca Tomescu, the internationally renowned veterinary surgeon who leads Speranta, said: “It’s great to be working with R&Co to help share our work in the UK.
“As many Romanian dogs now live in the UK we know many people are passionate about dogs in our country, so we are looking forward to letting people know how we are continuing to proactively tackle the situation here in Romania.”
Clayton Davis, fundraising and education manager at Speranta and lead contact with R&Co, said: “The team at R&Co have already proved to be a real asset to Speranta. Their expertise across media relations, social media and SEO is clear and we’re delighted with our partnership.”
The charity is the latest addition to R&Co’s animal and veterinary portfolio, joining shortly after the communications agency was named Medium Consultancy of the Year 2025 at the PRCA Dare Awards.
In the past year, it has seen its clients and staff numbers grow, along with its fee income rising by nearly 40 per cent.
R&Co was established in 1979 and was previously known as Newsline PR. It is a full-service communications agency with PR, social media and SEO clients in a range of B2B and B2C sectors including veterinary, property and logistics.
