The change follows the successful integration and smooth transition into the PLMR Group since its acquisition of Advent in 2021.
The team – based in Coventry and Birmingham – will be led by PLMR Board Director Rebecca Langton, who moved to the company earlier this year, and Rob Milne, who joined Advent in 2016.
Langton will combine her role as Head of Planning and Built Environment with responsibility for leading the Midlands Team supported by Milne. They will lead PLMR’s growth in the Midlands across Birmingham, Coventry and the wider Midlands region.
Langton succeeds Lee Corden, who is moving to a new role in the region after successfully managing the merger, while Adam Dent, the founder of Advent Communications, will step back from day-to-day involvement but will remain an advisor to the group.
Kevin Craig, PLMR’s CEO, said:
“Rebecca has made a great impact since joining the firm by winning business and establishing very strong regional contacts and this is very much a natural progression.
“We will miss Lee enormously. He has done a great job post the acquisition of Advent and leaves with so much goodwill. With a new name and a new team this is very much the next step in the company’s growth in the region taking Advent’s legacy into a new era.
“Rob joined the company as a graduate and is very much one of our rising stars, so it is really rewarding to see him develop and move into a managerial role while continuing his day-to-day client work.”
Langton, whose clients have included nationally-significant infrastructure projects, major housing schemes and some of the country’s best-known retailers, spent a decade working in local government and is a former Cabinet Member on a major local authority. Rebecca said:
“I am really relishing this new role. We have a very strong presence in the Midlands and have built a fantastic team that has a great track record in delivering quality results for a wide range of clients.
“PLMR has invested strongly in our Midlands operation and we are strongly driving regional growth across all our disciplines.”
Adam Dent, added:
“We have always been known for achieving outstanding results for clients, a can-do attitude and building trusted relationships with the people we work with.
“Being a part of PLMR means we have been able to offer a wider range of services which has been beneficial to our clients. The move to PLMR Midlands is the next step in that evolution and these are exciting times.”
The team, together with PLMR’s offices in London and Ipswich, offers a full suite of communications services including public relations, public affairs, strategic communications, planning communications, stakeholder engagement and media training.
PLMR now also offers comprehensive digital communications services to clients in the Midlands and nationally, from web design, social media and graphic design, to SEO, video production and professional photography.
