Over the past two decades Elinor has steadily grown the business, which now has a dozen business consultants serving more than 250 clients in Coventry and Warwickshire and beyond across professional services, hospitality, and property.
Elinor marked this milestone with a summer garden party at the four-star Mallory Court Hotel and Spa in Leamington. More than 120 clients, colleagues and friends enjoyed cocktails and canapes, along with games of Croquet, giant Jenga and Drafts.
Elinor said: “Not many people who are starting out in a new profession are given the chance to own and lead an already established business. It was hair-raising at times, but I have loved every minute of it.
“Key to my success – and I would say this to anyone starting out in business - is building relationships with your clients, your suppliers and your team.
“That means equipping yourself with a coach and mentor, helping your team to develop and grow, but also helping clients to truly understand their numbers enabling them to identify growth opportunities, while mitigating potential risks.
“We are anticipating further growth over the coming years. One of the trends that has been gathering pace since the pandemic has been advising more owner-managed businesses on long-term exit strategies; whether that is preparing for a sale or minimising taxation when handing family businesses down to the next generation.”
Another entity that has played a big role in Elinor’s 20 years in business is that of her favourite local hotel, Mallory Court Hotel and Spa.
She added: “My dad used to love lunching there - so I have fond memories of it – and so when I held my first ever client-facing event after taking over at Pentlands, I knew exactly where it was going to be.
“I have hosted women’s business groups, held networking lunches, and even braved two charity fire walks, as well as celebrating family birthdays and weddings. And, just like my business, the warmth of the people at the hotel are what keeps bringing me back.”
Tara Robinson, Sales and Marketing Director at Eden Hotel Collection which runs Mallory Court Hotel and Spa, added: “I was absolutely delighted to host Elinor’s celebrations.
“For me it was really quite poignant as we worked on Elinor’s first event for Pentlands together at Mallory Court 20 years ago. Through this time Elinor has held many events and personal celebrations with us, and we have shared great experiences and memories.”
