Pailton Engineering has joined Make UK Defence, the organisation’s defence-focused community, as the company continues to support military vehicle programmes in the UK and overseas.
The company has supplied some of US military’s largest vehicle programmes in recent decades and this recent move formalises Pailton Engineering’s involvement in the sector at a time when demand is increasing for robust, safety-critical vehicle components, supported by resilient supply chains and proven engineering capability.
“We have supplied steering components for military vehicles for decades,” said Dave Pound, Managing Director at Pailton Engineering. “Joining Make UK Defence is a logical step that helps us stay closer to the conversations that matter, share insight with peers and remain aligned with evolving programme requirements.”
Roger Brereton, Head of Sales at Pailton Engineering, added, “I have recently returned from visits to the US and the Middle East, where discussions with customers and defence industry professionals reinforced the importance of reliability, traceability and responsive support. Make UK Defence provides a valuable forum for practical collaboration, and it was great to attend our first networking event with Pailton colleagues last week.”
Pailton supplies a wide range of steering products for the sector, including steering columns and bevel boxes. These are designed for harsh terrains and applications with deep wading capabilities. “Existing customers have relied on our manufacturing capabilities and design expertise where high levels of customisation are required,” explained Roger.
Through Make UK Defence, Pailton Engineering will engage with manufacturers and supply chain partners on topics including capability development, compliance expectations and long-term readiness, while continuing to deliver steering solutions engineered for demanding operating environments.
