That means if the public donation target of £5,500 is reached, the Belgrade will receive £11,000!
The money raised will go directly to support the Belgrade’s work in the community, supporting community projects that are contributing to the creation of its next co-created show, Nanny of the Maroons; its award-winning Digital Media Academy which introduces young people to all aspects of TV and film production, and projects such as Next Steps which develops theatre skills for people with learning disabilities.
A spokesperson for the theatre said: “At the Belgrade we see every day how transformative engagement with the arts can be for young people.
“By donating people can help address the lack of opportunity for those from disadvantaged backgrounds across Coventry by developing transferable skills – boosting confidence, well-being and mental health, improving educational outcomes for students and creating new opportunities and career paths for young people.
“All donations will go directly to ensuring more people across Coventry can be reached, increasing opportunity and changing lives; and remember any gifts can make double the difference.
“We would also like to thank our match fund partner, Arts Council England (ACE), for their generous support.”
To double any donation, gifts must be made via the Big Give webpage and must be made between 17 and 24 March.
