Although Adamma was beginning to feel better, recovery can be a long journey, so it was important to ensure she had access to unemployment and disability benefits to bring her some stability while she found her feet again, which was something we were able to help her with.
Over the last couple of years there have been huge steps in Adamma’s confidence, and she is now happy to be back in work again and with a lot of hope for what the future holds. “I now have the support I need to lead a happy and safe life.
“The team helped me access unemployment benefits and later PIP. Since then they’ve supported me in finding work again, which boosted my confidence and have been there for me over the years. I now have the support I need to lead a happy and safe life. The biggest change that Bardsley supported me with was my mental health struggles.”
Adamma’s story shows the project’s long-term focus on youth homelessness prevention in Coventry - working with young people to reduce barriers to secure housing long before they reach crisis.
If you would like to refer a young person to the project (you can also refer yourself), please head to our referral page.
We are constantly looking to build relationships with those individuals and organisations interested in supporting our work with young people like Adamma. For partnership enquiries please email [email protected].
