What we’re looking for from you…

We are looking for a SENCO who can champion inclusive practice and lead meaningful support for apprentices with SEND. You will apply the organisation’s SEND strategy across all programmes, act as the central point of contact for internal teams and external partners, and offer clear, informed guidance to senior leaders on reasonable adjustments and effective learner support. A key part of the role is identifying learners who need additional help through assessment and onboarding, coordinating tailored support plans and ensuring these interventions have real impact. Your work will involve supporting apprentices with EHCPs, adapting provision as needs change and maintaining accurate, compliant documentation that reflects a strong focus on welfare and safeguarding.

The ideal candidate will bring experience of supporting SEND learners within further education, training or apprenticeships, along with confident knowledge of relevant legislation, funding rules and the requirements of the Equality Act 2010. You will be skilled at problem solving, communicating clearly and working in an organised and proactive way. The role also includes supporting tutors, assessors and support staff by sharing effective strategies and promoting inclusive teaching and assessment across the organisation. Experience in an apprenticeship training environment and a teaching or assessing qualification would be an advantage.
