Description

Birmingham City University’s Business Services portfolio helps business and organisations access the personnel, skills, consultancy and funded support that will make them flourish. We are a trusted partner to thousands of companies of all sizes and from all sectors, and that means we can almost certainly help you too.

Here is just a sample of the services we provide:

Apprenticeships

Higher and degree apprenticeships are a top-quality alternative to a traditional university degree. They allow apprentices to achieve a higher-grade qualification while working full-time and gaining experience in the workplace.

We work with over 400 national and local partners to help apprentices earn as they learn, developing the skills employers are looking for.

Our apprenticeship programmes build on Birmingham City University’s impressive track record in workplace training, for which we have partnered with leading employers like Jewson, Mitchells & Butlers, and Greene King. For more information: https://www.bcu.ac.uk/business/apprenticeships

CPD & Short Courses

Birmingham City University offers a range of CPD & Short Courses aimed at businesses looking to upskill their workforce or individuals simply wishing to augment their CVs.

Spanning a range of subjects, these courses are either CPD credit- or non-credit bearing, and all officially certificated by BCU. They offer learners the means to develop additional skills, knowledge and career development in their chosen field and within a short, convenient timeframe.

Courses are typically 15-20 hours teaching in total with assignments to complete between sessions. BCU offers face-to-face group instruction, live online course delivery and self-paced learning options. For more information: https://www.bcu.ac.uk/courses/short-courses

KTP

Looking to launch a new project or address a specific operational issue but without the requisite staff, specialist knowledge and financial resources?

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Birmingham City University (BCU) could be the answer, providing innovative thinking, expertise and part-funding to plan and deliver successful outcomes for your company.

KTPs are three-way collaborations between (i) a business with a strategic requirement (ii) a university that provides bespoke academic expertise and (iii) a high-calibre graduate (known as a KTP Associate).

KTPs are part-funded by Innovate UK, the United Kingdom's national innovation agency. These projects have now been instrumental in driving UK business growth for over 50 years. For more information: https://www.bcu.ac.uk/business/ktp
