Fashion show staged by exclusive Knowle based boutique is a hit for Zoe's Place

A charity fashion show hosted by Knowle-based The Closet and held at Nuthurst Grange Country House Hotel in Solihull has raised over £3000 in aid of Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice equating to 100 hours of care.

Unique in the UK, Zoe’s Place is the only dedicated baby hospice in the Midlands for babies and young children up to the age of five with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses. Every penny raised goes towards trying to provide baseline nursing and ancillary staff 24/7, 365 days a year.

The event was a tremendous success and attended by over 150 fashionistas keen to get a glimpse of The Closet’s exciting new collection whilst at the same time supporting a worthy cause.

Organiser Karen Jones opened the evening with a brief presentation about the fantastic work which Zoe’s Place does following which guests dug deep into their handbags when it came to the raffle.

And the prizes did not disappoint with items on offer such as a goody bag donated by Mary Teague RX Cosmetics, (founder of the revolutionary Eyesential under eye enhancer), a £150 voucher from Nicola Smyth hair salon in Knowle, dinners for two donated by the Orange Tree and Cheals of Henley in Arden as well as a host of other fantastic prizes.

Headline sponsor was Birmingham based wealth management and property investment company Prosperity Wealth.

It is the second event held by The Closet’s proprietor Rachel Gray in aid of the charity which between them have raised nearly £5000 of much needed funds for Zoe’s Place which needs £1.3 million a year to keep its doors open.

Proprietor Rachel Gray commented: “The event was a huge success and I am absolutely thrilled at the result. However I couldn’t have done it with the help of my team including Amanda Jeffs, Karen Jones and the team at Nicola Smyth who did the hair on the night.

“The work Zoe’s Place does is just incredible and clearly captured the hearts of the guests as it has mine.

“I would like to thank everyone at The Closet.  Also a huge thank you to everyone who has given their support particularly Prosperity Wealth, Nuthurst Grange and Nicola Smyth and of course our guests who helped to make this event possible.”

Zoe’s Place National Patron and Managing Director of Contechs, Pete Jarvis commented: “This is a fantastic result.  Now in its eighth year, Zoe’s Place is a charity which is almost wholly reliant on charitable donations and so the fundraising effort is a constant challenge.

“It is for this reason why events such as these are so important.  They truly make a difference to the families and children Zoe’s Place supports across the regions.

“On behalf of Zoe’s Place, I would therefore like to say massive thank you to Rachel and everyone who supported this event and worked so hard to achieve such an incredible result.”
