Supporters will be able to keep up to date with Matthew’s progress via his Instagram page, where he will be documenting the run with a number of live streams and stories.
“This is going to be my biggest challenge yet, but I’m delighted to be running for such a worthy cause,” explains Matthew. “You can’t just run for such a distance without a serious programme of training. I’ve completed three ultra-marathons so far this year, including a 70-mile training run in May, so I feel I’m as prepared as I can be. The support I’ve received so far has been fantastic and I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me already”.
So far, Matthew has raised more than £1,200 for Children with Cancer UK, the charity dedicated to researching treatments for childhood cancer and providing support to children and their families living with the impacts of cancer.
Rob Ally, Managing Director at XL Motors, said: “We couldn’t be prouder of Matthew’s incredible fundraising activities that see him push himself to the limit for a very important cause. All at XL Motors would like to wish Matthew the very best of luck and we look forward to supporting him throughout his incredible journey”.
