To support the campaign, the Restart Scheme hosted an Employability Day event in Coventry, bringing together participants, local partners and stakeholders to showcase the support available across the city.
Throughout the event, attendees accessed employability guidance, careers advice and information about training opportunities designed to support progression towards employment. The day focused on building confidence, increasing awareness of local opportunities and helping individuals take positive next steps towards work.
The event was also attended by MP, Taiwo Owatemi, who met with colleagues and saw first-hand the breath of support being delivered to local residents.
Andy Bowie, Director of Employability, Skills & HAAS said: “Spending Employability Day at one of our offices made me proud of the teams who help support people every day. I spoke to participants who shared their unique stories and backgrounds with me. No two people have the same experience, and our staff have the skills and expertise to provide tailored support to help each individual. What they do is nothing but fantastic.”
Employability Day provided an opportunity to demonstrate the value of partnership working across Coventry and Warwickshire and the important role employers, skills providers and employment support services play in developing local talent and supporting economic growth.
