Marcus lent his support to the campaign at the latest North Warwickshire branch meeting held at the offices of Subcon Laser in Nuneaton, which also heard information on how the local economy has been performing over the past few months and an update on the exciting Transforming Nuneaton plans.
The event also heard how the Chamber is working in the area to bring together schools, colleges and businesses in order to highlight the opportunities and careers available to young people in the area.
And Marcus agreed to jointly write to local businesses alongside the Chamber to ask them to get involved with the programme.
Tom Mongan, the Chamber’s North Branch chair, said it had been a very positive meeting.
He said: “It is great to bring together the Borough Council, the County Council, our local MP and businesses all in one room.
“It was interesting to hear how plans are moving forward with Transforming Nuneaton and what the next stages of that are going to be. The Chamber is fully on board with the project and can see the potential of it, even at this early stage.
“We welcome the fact that it is looking to create a town centre of the future which includes health, education, culture, transport, offices, retail and other amenities.
“It’s vitally important that we, as businesses, make sure we are across the latest plans for the area and feedback in a constructive way.
“It is also crucial that, during these times of uncertainty, we explore every opportunity possible to grow our business and that is why the Go For Growth Trade Local campaign is so important in urging companies across the patch to do business with one another in whatever way possible. That way we can continue to grow our economy.
“It is great to have Marcus Jones backing us on that and it is great that we, as businesses, are able to raise our concerns with him directly at branch meetings.”
Marcus said: “It’s important to me to listen to and hear from businesses across the area.
“I am pleased to back the Chamber’s Trade Local campaign to get more firms doing business with one another right across the county and the region.”
The Chamber's Trade Local Business Expo takes place at NAEC Stoneleigh on Friday 15th March, 10am-3pm.
