The team, which creates a friendly and inviting environment for everyone wanting to get involved, is looking ahead to the club’s season which is set to start following the kit launch.
The new sponsors for the team this year are The Yard, leading Midlands law firm Wright Hassall, international engineering company Meggitt, and top coach trainers, Acti-fit.
Corsairs was founded by Diego Dominguez to create an inclusive team to encourage everyone to get involved with the sport, regardless of age, gender or sexual orientation.
He said: “We are thrilled to have unveiled our new kit and sponsors for 2019-2020, and we are so grateful to Wright Hassall, Meggitt, The Yard and Acti-fit for their support, and of course The Yard for hosting the launch.
“We first founded the club to provide a place for the large percentage of LGBTQ+ people who feel excluded by team sports and our membership numbers have been growing steadily ever since.
“I have set up three different inclusive clubs in locations across the country but Coventry has by far been the most welcoming place, and particularly the Coventrians RFC which welcome us every week to train at their grounds.
“To have some of the region’s top companies as our sponsors for the new season is really crucial for our development as a club, as their support means we will be able to reach more people and spread the word about our inclusive team.”
The team trains every Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm to 8:30pm at the Coventrians Holbrooks’ ground, welcoming all ages and abilities to come and play.
Sarah Perry, Managing Partner at Wright Hassall, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring Coventry Corsairs for their new season; the work they do is incredibly important in providing a welcoming environment for everyone to get involved in rugby.
“As a firm, we work hard to promote and support sports clubs in our region as they are such an important part of the community and we work closely with teams such as Wasps Rugby as part of our ongoing long-term partnership.
“We are proud to be supporting Corsairs in helping them to spread their message of inclusivity to the local community.”
