The concerts have been beautifully filmed and feature some of the choir’s favourite early music repertoire, starting on Monday 8 March with the glorious Renaissance masterpiece Victoria’s Requiem and our hugely successful Naked Byrd I programme.
Future films in the series will include music from the choir’s Naked Byrd II recording, which was awarded 5 stars by The Independent, with such gems as Allegri’s Misere, chants by Hildegard of Bingen and Barber’s ethereal Agnus Dei, and the Consort will be joined by our finest period instrumentalists for a special Easter Day performance of J. S. Bach’s Easter Cantata BWV 4.
Alongside the new films will be a library of previously released concerts made over the last year, including Byrd’s 4-part Mass and Purcell’s incredible opera – Dido & Aeneas with our finest singers in the key roles.
