More companies back the Chamber's Trade Local campaign!

A South Warwickshire manufacturer, which exports to more than 40 countries worldwide, has turned to a creative agency in the region to assist with its continued global growth. CALGAVIN, which is based in Alcester, designs and makes tube inserts to improve heat exchangers largely in the oil & gas and petrochemical industry with more than 90 per cent of its products going overseas.

More companies back the Chamber's Trade Local campaign!

And the firm, which employs 30 staff at its Alcester site, has recently engaged Hinckley-based Trident to sharpen up its branding, design and produce a new brochure as well as develop its website to help secure new business all over the world.

Part of the web development will include having it translated into several languages to make it more user-friendly to more overseas markets.

CALGAVIN’s link-up with Trident came about through the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, which recently launched its Go For Growth: Trade Local campaign.

The companies were introduced at a Chamber meeting and that gave Trident the opportunity to tender for the contract and to win it in a competitive process.

Chris Roberts, of CALGAVIN, said: “We ship all over the world, supplying heat exchanger manufacturers as well as working on behalf of the end-user too, including the likes of ExxonMobil, BP and Shell.

“Our current markets are growing and there’s also potential in the new wave of electric vehicle manufacturing, where our hiTRAN™ solution is used in the inverter. They are in quite a lot of other products too.

“We wanted to continue the internationalisation of the business and improve our image and branding. Not everyone searches the web in English and we want our website to reflect that and to be accessible right around the world, whatever device is being used.

“We had just started the tendering process when I met Adam Burrage from Trident at a Chamber meeting. I was asked to share what we get out of our Chamber membership and, as well as help from the international trade team and the HR support, we used it to find local suppliers.

“I mentioned that we were looking for a creative agency to work with us and, on the back of that, Trident put in an excellent pitch and won the work competitively.

“We were not only impressed with the creativity they showed and their client references, but also less tangible aspects such as flexibility and their work ethic, which are just as important.

“Location helps too. We must be one of the most southerly businesses to be members of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber and Trident are possibly the most northerly – but we are still working locally and it means we can come together for meetings really easily.”

Adam Burrage, managing partner at Trident, said: “We are delighted to be working with CALGAVIN as it enhances its global brand.

“It was a competitive tender process and we were pleased to secure the contract. It is in our ethos to ensure that we go the extra mile for clients – we encourage clients to ‘delight’ their customers and we try to practice what we preach and do the same.”

He added: “We regularly attend Chamber networking events and have met great contacts including both potential clients and suppliers – this is a fantastic example of that.”
