International Trade Seminars
Developing overseas business is becoming an essential aspect for many companies. Serious consideration needs to be made to establish a strategy that will enable the staff involved to develop the specialist knowledge to perform effectively. Being one of only a small number of providers of International Trade training, our comprehensive suite of courses will give you the confidence and expertise abroad. Seminars run over one day at regular intervals. Prices are highly competitive at £260 for Chamber members and £295 for non-members (plus VAT).
Export for Beginners - NEW
16th January & 5th June 2019
This course is suitable for beginners who are new to their role or exporters that have not had any formal training. It will also provide those businesses only shipping to the EU and opportunity to understand basic export processes and how to create a commercial invoice.
Understanding Export & Export Documentation
24th January & 3rd July 2019
Providing an overview and understanding of the end to end export process, from enquiry to dispatch reviewing the documentation requirements throughout this process. Attendees will either be already working in an export administration role and need a refresher or those new to exporting and need a basic understanding of how to successfully export internationally.
Incoterms 2010- NEW - Half Day (AM)
12th February & 7th August 2019
Providing an overview and understanding of the current incoterms, how risks and responsibilities are apportioned between the buyer and seller, to also include who pays what costs during the journey. Aimed at individuals working in an import or export administration environment as well as those in sales and purchasing that need a detailed understanding of Incoterms 2010 as specified by the ICC.
International Documentation & Customs Procedures
7th March & 5th September 2019
Specifically designed for those entering the world of international trade or those wanting a refresher on current international trade requirements. It will review the end to end export process and associated documentation, including VAT and intrastats, the use of CHIEF including CPC codes and customs compliance, plus the role of HMRC.
Letters of Credit/ Methods of Payment
3rd April & 2nd October 2019
This course will provide information relating to the payment risk ladder, the importance of payment methods and letters of credit to ensure payments are received. On completion, delegates will recognise issues that can prevent payment or lead to delays when selling goods under Letter of Credit.
Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) & Customs Compliance
30th April & 19th October 2019
Post Brexit it is expected that AEO certification is likely to be even miore desirable as a tool to keep cargo moving. As an internationally recognised quality mark many larger organisations are insisting on this as an integral part of any trading partner relationship.
Import Procedures & Inward Processing (IP)
15th May & 14th November 2019
Aimed at individuals with responsibility for importing, this course is designed to provide comprehensive understanding of the administrative, legals and logistical requirements associated with handling imported goods. Delegates will develop knowledge of current import requirements and learn how to ensure goods are delivered cost effectively and on time.
Apprenticeships in International Trade and Logistics Operations
Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber Training has developed an exciting opportunity to support businesses to grow their export potential. Our International Trade Apprenticeships can support new and existing staff and is an ideal way to build capacity and develop skilled individuals, with practical expertise around international markets and trade.
As Apprenticeships are work-based, most of the training is 'on the job' – at your premises with some elements delivered off the job by agreement.
