Our Women in Business Network continues to go from strength to strength and 2019 will see the Chamber continue to deliver networking lunches with inspirational speakers.
Join us for our Women in Business Networking Lunch at The Stratford Park Hotel & Golf Club with inspirational speakers lined up for you to hear from and the chance to network with your peers and colleagues, hear from an excellent line up of speakers and enjoy a networking lunch!
Our July guest speakers are:
Major Sandy Hennis, Royal Signals
Major Sandy Hennis is a Reservist officer with 37 Signal Regiment based in Redditch and works in an employer support role. She started her Army career as a radio technician before commissioning back into the Royal Signals. After completing tours of Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan she left the Regular Army to join the Reserves in 2014. Sandy splits her time between leading overseas expeditions, outdoor instruction and team building/leadership development.
She has participated in a number of military and civilian expeditions, climbing and mountaineering in the UK, Spain, the Alps, Nepal, USA, Norway and Peru. She enjoys anything which takes her outdoors and can’t turn down a challenge, which has led to many adventures from traversing the Cuillin Ridge to completing the Devizes to Westminster kayak marathon, and more recently competing in the Original Mountain Marathon (OMM). She is currently studying Spanish and can usually be found living out of her camper van, wandering in the hills with her dog Bracken or riding the local mountain bike trails.
Tina Costello, Chief Executive, Heart of England Community Foundation
Tina has been the Foundation’s Chief Executive since 2013. Her responsibilities include developing and implementing high-level strategies, building effective relationships with our stakeholders, developing major corporate partnerships and managing the overall operations and resources of the charity.
Tina has over 22 years’ experience in senior positions as Head of Awards for All for the West Midlands region at Big Lottery Fund and managing external funding at Coventry City Council, with a lengthy track record of delivering successful community investment and grant making programmes as well as working with donors to develop new funding streams.
Julie McGarrigle, Business Development Director, Alsters Kelley Solicitors Limited
Julie is Business Development Director at Alsters Kelley Solicitors. She became a Director of the firm when it became a Limited Company on 1st October 2018. The firm has offices in Coventry, Leamington Spa, Nuneaton and Southam and employs about 100 people. Her main roles are the planning and implementing of the marketing & PR strategies to support the ongoing business development of the firm, the development of their internal culture and communications and is also managing the firm’s recruitment and HR functions
Julie has more than 25 years marketing experience, most of which was gained whilst working for a large corporate within the financial services sector where she was head of their regional group communications for the East Midlands. She has also worked for a number of smaller companies across a wide variety of sectors, including an independent school and the local chamber of commerce.
Born in Leamington Spa, Julie attended primary and secondary schools in Leamington before starting full-time work at the age of 16. She has always lived in Warwickshire and is passionate about the local area and is currently the Chair of the Royal Leamington Spa Chamber of Trade.
