The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is a free-trade agreement between Canada, the European Union and its member states. As of 21st September CETA removes duties on 98% of products (tariff lines) that the EU trades with Canada.
CETA offers new opportunities for EU businesses of all sizes to export to Canada. It will save the amount they pay in tariffs on goods exported to Canada. The agreement will especially benefit smaller companies who can least afford the cost of the red tape involved in exporting to Canada.
The Department for International Trade invites you to join us for an informative session on the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) Join us at The Manufacturing Technology Centre for a half day event to learn more about how UK companies can reap the benefits of CETA when exporting to Canada.
The morning session will include presentations explaining what CETA is and what it means for UK businesses and how DIT can assist you with your ambitions in this market as well as a case study, panel discussion and Q&A.
A networking lunch will be followed by a workshop giving the opportunity to meet with DIT representatives from Canada to answer your specific questions.

The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, or CETA, is a trade agreement between the EU and Canada. By boosting trade, CETA will create jobs, growth and new opportunities for UK companies. CETA is the most extensive free trade agreement to date. It benefits UK companies by removing 98% of the duties (taxes) they used to pay at Canadian customs. The same applies to Canadian businesses exporting to the EU. CETA makes it easier and cheaper to export goods and services between the UK and Canada.
