Chamber Means Business & Summer BBQ - August 2019

This brand new event for 2019 is your chance to find out all about the latest business news, developments and insight from across Coventry & Warwickshire. Keep up to date with what is happening in the region and understand the opportunities for economic growth.

Following our presentations, delegates are invited to join us for our annual Summer Networking BBQ, kindly hosted at Mallory Court Hotel & Spa.

Our August Chamber Means Business presentations:

David Penn, President, Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce
We're delighted that for our August Chamber Means Business we will be joined by current Chamber of Commerce President, David Penn, who will be updating our audience on his priorities for his term as President, local and regional updates as well as an update on the work of the Chamber Board and Executive.

Justine Howl, Head of Communications, Birmingham Airport
Birmingham Airport is a major gateway to, and offers important infrastructure for, Coventry & Warwickshire as well as the wider Midlands and UK. Following a 12-week public consultation last Autumn, the Airport has recently published it's Master Plan and Surface Access Strategy.

The documents outline the plans to develop the Airport site and handle the increase in passenger numbers up to the year 2033. This includes an investment of half a billion pounds that will transform the terminal and customer experience, whilst creating jobs for 34,000 people and generating over £2 billion regional economic benefit. Justine will share the highlights and key points of the Master Plan with the Coventry & Warwickshire business community.

Exhibitors
Radical Couriers
What makes us radical?
We will manage your delivery from start to finish and we will achieve this with one person.
- No hand offs or selling your job to another courier firm.
- We will also tell you if we can do the job at the outset.

We don’t:
- waste money on call centres and call handlers who spend the bulk of their time finding drivers or other courier firms to take the job you thought they were going to do.

We do:
- advise you within a matter of moments of the price of your job and the availability of drivers at the same time.
- advise you of your allocated driver and his/her vehicle registration number to support your security measures.
- TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE JOB YOU TRUSTED US WITH!

It Takes Balls to Talk
‘It Takes Balls to Talk’ is a campaign which uses sporting themes to encourage people, particularly men, to talk about how they feel.
So why are we focusing on men?

- Suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under the age of 45
- Over three quarters of people who kill themselves are male (Reference: ONS)
- 12.5% of men in the UK are suffering from one of the common mental health disorders, for example, anxiety or depression.

Mental health issues can affect anyone and can be caused by a number of factors, including bereavement, unemployment, finance and debt issues, family and relationship problems, social isolation, low self-esteem, drug and alcohol issues and many other personal factors.
