Young People’s Enterprise Centre of Expertise
The Young People's Enterprise Centre of Expertise (YPECOE) is a two-year project for the West Midlands, providing a coordinated approach to the promotion and development of young people’s enterprise across the region.
Funded by Advantage West Midlands, YPECOE is based in the offices of Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
The project aims are to:

Make the case for young people’s enterprise by collecting and commissioning data, research and market intelligence.

Embed young people’s enterprise in regional enterprise policy and economic strategies.

Map enterprise activity and organisations working with young people across the region.

Identify capacity-building opportunities and work with enterprise support providers to improve services for young people.

Develop a regional business support strategy for young people with Business Link West Midlands and its partners.

Collaborate with a range of stakeholders and partners from private, public and third sectors to promote and raise awareness of young people’s enterprise, contributing to a stronger enterprise culture across the region.

Evaluate and assess impact of young people’s enterprise activity in West Midlands.
YPECOE is interested in enterprise activity involving young people from 5 to 25, whether they are in formal education, work and training, or unemployed. It will particularly focus on the growing problem of youth unemployment, working with partners to promote enterprise solutions and to increase awareness among young people of self-employment, business start-up and social enterprise as career options.
