Business leaders join fight to sell Coventry airport

Business leaders in Warwickshire have banded together to try to find a buyer for Coventry Airport. The airport was put up for sale by shareholders and directors a month ago after struggling to find a replacement when holiday giant Thomsonfly dropped it as a base last year. The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce has now met with airport director Brian Cox to throw their weight behind the bid to sell it as a going concern.

Shipston pottery firm scoops major overseas order

Whichford Pottery, which is based in a village close to Shipston-on-Stour, has just landed a trial order for a very large bespoke urn decorated with 23.5ct gold for a new Middle Eastern customer who spotted the company’s work at the Chelsea Flower Show last year. The firm, which was started 34 years ago and is still run by potter Jim Keeling, has been assisted in its overseas business by the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce's international trade team.
