Switch It Off Campaign 2009

The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber is supporting the 2009 Switch it Off campaign and encourages our members to do the same.

The Switch it Off campaign, covers one and a half million people in Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire, it aims to encourage everyone from homeowners to schools and businesses to make cost savings and save the environment at no cost at all - just by switching things off when they are not in use. This year Coventry is really going to push hard to promote energy awareness, in particular with the ever nearing Copenhagen climate change conference and rising energy prices, it is even more significant. Switch it Off is from the 9th to the 13th November with the Big Switch Off on Friday 13th from 4.30pm until 6.30pm, when lights and appliances all over the City will be switched off. All week there will be different events being held all over the city, but the big focus will be the big switch off on Friday and our focus will be an event at the Cathedral. Central Networks will monitor Coventry's electricity use before, during and after.
